Introduced in 1968 and developed in South Carolina, USA, Provider Bush Bean is widely regarded as one of the most reliable early green bean varieties. Its lasting popularity comes from excellent disease resistance and adaptability to a broad range of soil types. Provider beans germinate readily in cool soils, making them ideal for short seasons and cooler conditions, yet they also perform well in hot weather. Vigorous, compact plants produce heavy yields of tender pods, best harvested at 5–6 inches in length. Well suited to both home and market gardens, Provider beans also freeze exceptionally well, retaining their flavour and nutritional value.
